KDHX Volunteer Spotlight: Beth Ann
By KDHX
Beth Ann
Host of On The Back Porch With Beth Ann
Thursdays 5-7 a.m.
Show Description:
On the Back Porch with Beth Ann is a combination of classic Rock from the '60s and '70s, deeper grooves from the classic Rock artists/bands and a smattering of the unexpected. You ask what a smattering of the unexpected would include? I can't tell you because then it wouldn't be unexpected!
What would would you like to share with KDHX listeners and readers about yourself?
I have been exposed to many genres of music throughout my life. As a child, it wasn’t unusual to have classical, big band, rock n roll, or jazz from the 1910s, '20s, and '30s playing. I feel lucky to have been exposed to and influenced by each of these genres.
Please describe the inspiration for your show.
I love music from the 1960s and 1970s. I think it was and still is one of the most outstanding eras of music and I was lucky enough to grow up in it.
Why does being a KDHX DJ matter to you?
I take great pleasure in sharing music with others. I appreciate that KDHX allows me to play music that other radio stations can't, don't or won't play!
Why is KDHX important to you and to your community?
I believe music has a huge influence on people and can unite us. When we feel united I believe it moves us toward more empathy and acceptance of each other.
What are some of your favorite KDHX shows?
Higher Ground, Global Grooves, Rhythm Highways and Thursday Pop-Up Show
What record do you think everyone should have in their music library?
I would never be able to pick just one record. It would depend on my mood, the day, the time, the season, who I am with, if I am alone etc...
Favorite thing you are listening to at the moment?
Everything I play is my favorite in that moment!
