KDHX Community Media is owned and operated by Double Helix Corporation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission to build community through media. We promote civic and cultural participation by providing the tools, technology, and training vital to informed, creative expression. Double Helix Corporation operates KDHX Community Media, KDHX FM 88.1, KDHX Online, Folk School of KDHX, and as such, is the sole owner of the information collected on the KDHX Community Media Website. Double Helix Corporation collects personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our website.
Orders
If you purchase a product or service from us, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, and expiration date).
We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.
When you place an order to purchase a product or service from us, you will receive an acknowledgment of that order immediately via email. You can expect to receive your product within one week of placing your order.
Application Forms
If you register for a class, sign up to volunteer or apply for an internship on our website, we require that you provide certain personally identifiable information, including, but not limited to, your name, address, phone number, credit card number or billing preference. This information is necessary to process your registration/application and to contact you. When you become a donor, you have the option to subscribe to our monthly email newsletter.
When you make an online donation, you will receive an acknowledgment immediately via email. If you mail a donation, you can generally expect to receive an acknowledgment of your donation by mail within one week. Due to the volume of donations we process during our on-air drives, your acknowledgment may take up to three weeks if you join during the drive. Donors generally receive renewal reminders by mail two months before, one month before, and one month after the renewal date of their annual donation.
When you sign up for classes, you will receive an acknowledgment by email at the time of registration. If you apply to be a volunteer or for an internship; you will be contacted by a staff member with further instructions.
Surveys or Contests
From time to time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site. If you participate in contests, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. We do not ask for any personally identifiable information for our surveys. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you, therefore, have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code).
We use this information to notify contest winners and award prizes; to monitor site traffic or personalize the site (in the case of anonymous information collected in surveys).
We use may use a third-party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests; that company will be prohibited from using our users' personally identifiable information for any other purpose. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a contest, survey, membership or merchandise purchase with other third parties. In the case of ticket giveaways, we will supply your name to the venue for the purpose of collection of your ticket at will call.
Communications from the Site
Newsletters
If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe. Please see the "Choice and Opt-out" section. Our email newsletter is sent once per month, along with four special fund drive newsletters per year.
Customer Service
Based on the personally identifiable information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)
We share aggregated demographic information about our user base with our partners and underwriters. This information does not identify individual users. Aggregated demographic data is shared with funders and trade organizations; current and potential underwriters; program and event partners/collaborators; and in public relations.
We do not link aggregate user data with personally identifiable information.
Personally identifiable information:
We Share Personally Identifiable Information with Third Parties only for the purpose of fulfilling orders or for agents to process bulk mailings.
Agents
We use an outside shipping company to fulfill orders, and a credit card processing company to bill you for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes. We also use third-party mail houses to handle bulk mailings of fulfillments, billings and printed materials.
Service Providers
We use Tuva Interactive to provide website design and maintenance on our site. We also use SalesForce Corporation for client relationship management. Authorize.net and Sustainer.io provide online credit card processing services. When you make a donation, purchase merchandise or sign up for classes or newsletters, we will share your name, address, email address and/or credit card information as necessary for the third party to provide that service.
These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any other purpose.
