We are Welcome Neighbor STL and we are looking for people who want to develop a lasting friendship with a refugee family! Our family partnering program partners volunteers with refugee families.
Our family partner volunteers:
•    Are friends and advocates
•    Help navigate social and public services in St. Louis
•    Assist with budgeting and goal planning

The goal of the program is self-sufficiency for the refugee family and lasting friendship between the refugee family and the family partners. Our program started with Syrian families, and five years later, we have many family partners still in active relationship with their Syrian families! Today, our new family partners work mostly with Afghan families.

Come join us over Zoom from 7-9 p.m. on July 9th to learn about Welcome Neighbor STL and what being a family partner with a newly arrived family is like.

"The Field House Museum is pleased to announce its inaugural Poetry in the Garden competition series, held over four dates from May to July in the museum’s garden in downtown St. Louis.

This competition aims to honor the legacy of 19th-century poet Eugene Field by inviting local poets to create and perform their own works inspired by some of the themes he returned to again and again over the course of his career – love, food & drink, nature, and current events.

The final event in the series, held on July 11 from 5:15 to 6:15 pm, highlights poems tackling current events.

Interested in submitting a poem? Visit https://fieldhousemuseum.org/events/programs/poetry-in-the-garden/ for more details
