Mooneyham Art LLC proudly announces Leo’s on Fire, a celebratory exhibition and FREE public event to be held on Friday, August 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM at its downtown Alton gallery, located at 305 State Street. The event commemorates the birthdays and art of Charles Mooneyham, Jon Ross-Mooneyham, and Stephen Scordias—three pivotal figures behind the gallery's creative evolution.
This spirited evening will feature guest artwork from Derek “Deek” Diedricksen, currently on world tour with Downset. Diedricksen is a Boston-based multidisciplinary creative, treehouse builder, former HGTV and DIY Network host (Tiny House Builders), and author of five published works including the bestseller Microshelters. His sustainable art created using repurposed materials, often from treehouse/tiny house builds like the ones featured in his latest book Treehouses: Within Reach. Or, created on Japanese menus and flyers while on tour with Downset in Japan, will be on display alongside local and national talents showcased in Mooneyham Art daily.
Deek also fronts the heavy metal band Inverter and recently toured Japan as drummer for Downset, a Los Angeles-based musical act. His award-winning documentary, The Box Truck Film: Building a REUSEful Home, celebrates inventive reuse and earned acclaim across multiple film festivals. More information can be found at Relaxshacks.com.
Guests can enjoy complimentary desserts and beverages, as well as a significant showcase of newly installed artworks from Mooneyham’s curated collection. The gallery serves as a nexus for emerging and established artists across international, national, and regional spectrums.
Additionally: Guests will be entertained by musical guests Psychedelic Symphony and celebrating the birthday of Stephanie Scanlon, the lead singer of the group. Albeit August 24th is not a Leo, Psychedelic Symphony is an instrumental part of the Mooneyham Art vibe and legacy.
